Season IV Details
After three seasons of I-slam Hockey, the league known for being the trendsetter and for setting the standard returns in October 2010 with its fourth season featuring a new format! Two tiers with players determined for each team through the draft will highlight the changes to come. Additionally, I-Slam Hockey continues to donate all of its proceeds to charity with a new approach to charitable giving in that five different charities will be chosen for donation!

Registration for Season IV begins in August 2010. All previous players of the league will be granted a "priority invite" and then registration for all remaining spots will be opened to the general public. If you wish to take part, please email hockey@i-slam.ca and we'll be sure to send you a registration email.

How To Apply for Charitable Support
Since we will be selecting only FIVE charities to have represent teams in I-Slam Hockey this season, it can be understood that there will be a rigorous set of criteria that will need to be met for our Selection Committee's satisfaction. The following will be required:

• The charity must be a registered charity within Canada
• The charity must submit a 250-word essay via email to hockey@i-slam.ca on the following:
- how funds would be used should their team(s) win
- which projects it will support should their team(s) win
- how the charity makes a positive contribution to the Muslim community of Canada

The deadline for this will be Sunday, August 29th, 2010 at 12am.

Taqwa Wins Championship!
Taqwa emerged in a thrilling shootout victory to claim the franchise's first I-Slam Hockey Championship. General Manager Dilawar Alvi, in his third season behind the helm of the Black Magic, would also go on to claim the General Manager of the Year Award while captain Ammer Askary earned the Playoff MVP Award.

Thank you to everyone for a great season! Insh'Allah, check back in the future for information on next season which will tentatively begin in October 2010!
All Proceeds to Charity!
I-Slam Hockey continues to donate all of its proceeds to charity! In our first year, we donated all of our proceeds of $1,400 to the North American Muslim Foundation (NAMF) in order to help less-privileged people from our community. In our second season, we generated $5,000 to donate to The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. However, upon learning of a special program in place for donours to become long-term partners of the hospital and its efforts, we decided to hold onto the donation money in order to combine it with the proceeds from last season in order to meet the minimum $10,000 donation requirement.

Coming soon - we'll be making our donation to The Hospital for Sick Children. Stay tuned for more details!
