| Inshirah no shows in regular season finale |

It has been mentioned before about how last season, Inshirah droned on and on about how they were not a Tier Two team and should have been in Tier One. After winning Tier Two in a close final, they added to their team and were promoted to Tier One. Aside from their opening season win against the perennially weak Adiyat, Inshirah has been never posed a threat to any of their opponents this season and have lost all their games by an average of almost 45 points. Last week they had only one player show up against Fatiha who was winning by such a large margin, had guard Sherif Shehata leave early making his team play five on four for the last ten minutes of the game where they still dominated.
Which now brings us to this week’s debacle involving Inshirah as they were facing Zilzal who has relished every opportunity to run the score up on their opponents. Whether Inshirah was afraid of the “40-Burger” or 60-Sub” from Zilzal we cannot say but captain Shazie Buttar only contacted the league just before his game to advise that his team was not showing up. This gave Zilzal the default win by a 10-0 score which is the closest loss that Inshirah has had all season. Zilzal had all of their players present meaning that if this game had been played out we would surely have witnessed a blow-out and perhaps Zilzal unveiling their “80-Calzone.”
With the win, Zilzal finishes in second place in the division and will await the winner of the Tamjeed versus Adiyat game as they have earned a first round bye. For Inshirah, the loss leaves them with a 1-6 record and in fifth place where they will meet Fatiha. However, Inshirah still owes part of their registration fee that Buttar has been promising to pay for months now, if the fees are not paid by Tuesday morning, they will not be eligible to participate in the playoffs and lose their game by default. |
